Walder Science Center

Workshops in 3D Printing and Computer Programming

3D Printing and Coding are rapidly revolutionizing the fields of technology, medicine, education, and more!  Children in grades 4-8 are invited to come join us Tuesdays and Thursdays after school starting this coming school year on September 5th to experiment with and learn these cutting-edge skills!

Our instructors work with an inovative curriculum, designed to introduce and engage these important skills to younger grades, until they are ready to design in CAD for the 3D printer and write real programs in BASIC and JAVA.  We have separate girls classed with a qualified female instructor, and a boys class with a qualified male instructor, each in independent locations.  Each participant is allowed to print and take home 2 projects weekly from the 3D printer.

The cost for each child is $10 per individual session, $60 for 8 sessions, or $100 for 16 sessions.  Siblings join for half price.  The program is located at 3050 W. Touhy Ave (girls in the Cong. Adas Yeshurun building, and boys in the Walder Science Center building).

Preregistration is required so that we can be prepared for the right amount of students.  You can sign up your children over the phone at 773-649-5360 or at programs@walderlab.org.  We can answer any of your questions as well upon contact.

The program will run Sept 5, 7, 12, 14, and then resume after the holidays Tuesday and Thursdays throughout the following dates:

  • Oct 23rd through Dec 7th (skipping Nov 23rd Thanksgiving)
  • January 22nd through Feb 27th
  • March 5th through the 22rd
  • April 9th through May 17th
