Scoring: There are a total of 270 points in this challenge. Points are earned through participation at sessions, field trips and submission of independent study assignments (120 points), an innovation journal, and an Innovation Presentation (150 points).

Speaker Bios
This live Zoom panel features Rabbi Ortner from ZMAN Technologies and Rabbi Krengel from the Zomet Institute, who specialize in the intersection of halacha and Shabbos/Yom Tov appliance technology. The session will include a workshop on identifying the problem and formulating solutions for innovation development. Dinner will be provided.

Field Trip to Beyond Design Studio (Nov. 11)
Speaker Bios
Participants will enjoy a private tour of this design engineering studio and get an in-depth view of how designers work. Participants will engage in a brainstorming and ideation workshop on-site with Mr. Gavriel Prero, Industrial Designer and Mr. Michael Prince, founder and owner of Beyond Design. Dinner will be provided.
Assignment 4: Portal Innovations Introduction

Field Trip to Portal Innovations (Nov. 20)
This exciting field trip will include a tour of a state-of-the art biotech lab facility, hands-on engineering activities, an innovation and career discussion with Dr. Levi Bennish, Biomedical Scientist at ClostraBio, as well an entrepreneurship activity. Dinner will be provided.

Torah Perspectives on Innovation w/ Rabbi Yaakov Robinson
Rabbi Yaakov Robinson will share the Torah perspective of innovation and follow with a Q&A session. The session will include a workshop on iterations and prototyping. Dinner will be provided.

Peer Collaboration and Communication
Participants will review the final presentation guidelines and prepare for the culminating event. A workshop on patents and intellectual property protection will follow. Dinner will be provided.
