Are you taking questions from the textbook? I want to test myself on the material, so are you using them, just with different numbers? If you are using some other question type, could you tell me where to get practice versions? Thanks so much.
I will copy very few, if any, test questions from the book, but an excellent method of extra test prep is to look at *all* of the relevant materials in the chapter reviews at the end of each chapter, i.e. the summaries, problems, etc., especially the multiple choice-type questions. There are a few provisos, however:
-Your absolute priority should be to first carefully do the assigned readings (scientific and Judaic), and to watch both videos, making sure that you have a good grasp of all the material. The tests are designed so that (hopefully) this will be enough preparation for the average student.
-The end-of-chapter questions will obviously not cover any additional material I might go over in the video, which is not in the chapter reading material.
-You should obviously only go over end-of-chapter materials relevant to the sections I assign.
-Taking all of these things into account, if you do choose to put in extra effort, it is certainly commendable (not required) to use extra materials like the chapter reviews.
For reasons of fairness, the source of my questions is secret. Suffice it to say, the tests are a combination of testbank materials for teachers, some testbank questions I modify or rewrite, and some original questions I compose myself. I will try to post some additional practice questions before the test, but I will make the actual test questions different to them.
Study hard and hatzlacha!
If you are interested in seeing some charts of the score statistics, one of the participants created a doc that has calculated each student’s place, and also created bar charts to see graphically where you are at in relation to your peers. You can view the doc at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/150_GC4t5QiZGYPDWBpTYLFq5APxQHR0b_32ArsDqso4/edit?usp=sharing
On the syllabus for test 6 reading it says “see additional reading” where do I find the additional reading?
It is a link just above the Test 6 lecture on the JSC Science Lectures webpage.
Happy birthday, Mr. Kassman. 😃
Where can we find the old test with answers? For the final will the questions be straight from the old tests or not?
The old tests #1-9 will be emailed out to all participants today, Feb. 10th. Test #10 will hopefully be emailed out next week. The questions on the final exam will not be the same as those on the previous test, however they can be similar and studying from the all tests in often beneficial.
How many questions will be on the final?
The final will have 40 questions, with the same ratio of Science and Judaic questions. It is just double the length of the regular tests.
