Children’s Science Museum
Check out Walder Science’s new STEM Museum!

Our new children’s museum is geared towards children in grades 1-6, yet will be engaging for the whole family! Open on the following days only: March 31, April 7, June 16 & June 23 from 10:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m.  We will have 4 major exhibits:

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS

Step into a playground of visual perception that turns reality on its head. Here, art seems to leap off the page in stunning 3D, ordinary objects defy size expectations, and static images appear to move before your very eyes. Play with spinning tops that create a magical illusion of color and pattern, or puzzles that seem to change right in your hands. Come and explore the playful, puzzling world of sight and perception, where we challenge your mind and ignite your curiosity in a fun, visually stunning environment.

PULLEY POWER

Get a hands-on understanding of how pulleys multiply force, provide mechanical advantage, and help us in our daily lives in our new “Pulley Power” room. Lift your parents off the ground, experience the force of tug of war, propel heavy objects far and wide, and so much more! With our series of challenges and experiments, you’ll not only observe the principles of pulleys but also experience them in action.

Senses: Seeing with Sound!

Learn to see sound in a series of both auditory and visual activities! Create a laser light show with your voice, generate intricate shapes and patterns with invisible waves, and experience how explorers use sonar technology by discovering mystery objects of your own. Create acoustic art, visualize vocal vibrations, and make discoveries with sound in this interactive exhibit sure to stimulate your senses.

Chick hatching and Animal Flight

Children saw new eggs hatching in our latest incubators, while learning about the full lifecycle and stages of bird growth (with live examples)! Kids also explored the science of flight, understanding the aerodynamic concepts, while trying on the only existing human size bird and bat wing models (developed right here are Walder Science) to try to fly themselves!

Purchase a ticket by signing up for one of the two time slots on March 31 from 10:00 a. m. – 12:00 p.m. or from 12:00 p. m. – 2:00 p.m.  Limited spots are available.
